What's In a Name?/In Balance With this Life (G)
These are my very first drabbles. I hope they turned out okay.
Title: What's In a Name?
Rating: G
Pairing: None
Spoilers: Rising, pt. 2
Disclaimer: None of these characters belong to me...sadly
Feedback: yes, please.
Summary: Drabble. You don't get to name anything...ever.
Author Notes: written for the
gatecreation episodes challenge. The title comes from Romeo and Juliet
What's In a Name?
He could be irked, could blame his youth and pout until Sheppard gives in. There are all sorts of options at this point, but he’s surrounded by alien technology in a completely different galaxy, which never gets old, no matter how many times he goes through the gate, and as much as he wants this Air Force major to take him seriously instead of blowing him off like an annoying little kid, the fact that they are currently sitting in an alien spaceship makes him grin sheepishly when Sheppard radios the control room.
“Flight, this is...Puddlejumper. We’re go for launch.”

Summary: Drabble. It's been a very long couple of days.

gatecreation episodes challenge. The title comes from W.B. Yeats's "An Irish Airman Foresees His Death."
In Balance With This Life
In the last three days, he’d said goodbye to his family (mom, dad, kid brother), traveled to another galaxy (specifically, to Atlantis), lost his CO (a real marine), and seen the security of his home base severely compromised by strangers from a different planet (and it bothered him slightly that he still wasn’t sure which of the last two upset him more).
As he sipped champagne on a seaside balcony, Bates told himself that none of that really mattered because whatever else had happened in the last few days, the most important thing was that he was still, undeniably, alive.
