Summary: Sometimes Lorne thought he should pinch himself to make sure he wasn’t dreaming.
Author’s Notes: written for the gatecreation episodes challenge. I feel like I’ve stolen the title from something, but I can’t tell for sure. If you know what it’s from, please enlighten me.
Sometimes Lorne thought he should pinch himself to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. There were even times when he’d stop what he was doing and close his eyes tightly, opening them just to ensure that he was really doing what he thought he’d been doing.
Air Force Major? Check.
Classified mission? Double check.
Alien galaxy? Check.
Lost city of Atlantis? Check.
Freaky gene that lets me play with alien tech? Cool. And check.
Command of my very own alien spaceship? Check.
He knew this was no time to be indulging in childhood fantasies. Not while people’s lives were at stake. Not while his CO was MIA and Atlantis’s top scientist was a prisoner of the Wraith. But he couldn’t stop the unbridled joy that was bubbling up from the balls of his bouncing feet as he made his way to the command deck of the Orion.
Of course, this being Pegasus, he’d probably lose her before the day was out.
