Mar. 19th, 2008 10:40 amRumors are circling LJ about a content strike planned for Friday. For many reasons, I feel this is a supremely bad idea. I know it's easy to forget when you're involved in fandom, but we actually represent a tiny, tiny portion of LJ's users. If we're upset with the way LJ is being run, the answer is not to make less noise, but more.

misslucyjane is hosting a Porn Battle over at lucyjanesparlor on Friday.
Also in that spirit, I will try (no promises, as I'm actually out of town on Friday) to post several ficlets, probably of the pornish variety, here on Friday, and I'd encourage you to do the same.
The idea is this: If SUP dislikes fandom, porn, slash, what-the-fuck-ever they're disliking this week, then let's give them that. Let's make sure they can't ignore us. What I'd really love is if one in five people who hit the random post link end up in fandom. Preferably in something that makes SUP uncomfortable.
So, yes, participate in the Porn Battle, but more importantly, on Friday, March 21st, FLOOD LJ WITH FANDOM RELATED POSTS! Write anything at all! Fics, porn, meta, episode reviews, whatever you want. Post your own Porn Battle even. Just make sure that for at least one day, we can't be ignored.
