For the first time since signing on to be Chief Physician on a super secret international mission to another galaxy, wherein they’d encountered life-sucking aliens, hostile Amish Nazis, microscopic machines bent on human destruction and myriad other equally frightening things, Carson Beckett doubted the wisdom of his choice.

He’d just been told by a man he considered a friend that the murder of 200 humans, whom they had created, was a tactical decision.

Even after all the time he’d spent with the military since arriving on Atlantis, Carson didn’t think he’d ever come to grips with the term “acceptable losses.”

I'm glad it made you think. I have a bad habit of getting caught up in the ethical ramifications of events in certain episodes, and it makes me spend too much time thinking, "Yes, but what about...?"
